Summary

Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the Sr. Quality Technician will develop and implement a total quality management system that is responsible for Quality Assurance communication between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, customer service and logistics. The Sr. Quality Technician will monitor product quality and safety factors, producing consistent high-quality components under the implementation of a Quality Management System and quality culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, propose, implement, and manage a QMS culture; ensure that product quality levels are set, met, and the related expectations and results are communicated plant-wide
  • Evaluate, design, implement and improve production and process controls to achieve quality management objectives w/ the support of Engineering and Production departments
  • Understand, document, and maintain software system quality management resources
  • Provide quality engineering support to product or process evaluation efforts by reviewing and approving quality protocols and results
  • Support continuous improvement processes including lean manufacturing, root cause analysis, kaizen events, etc.
  • Oversee document control to ensure compliance with all product quality requirements
  • Understand and proactively keep on top of Quality Assurance trends, updates, and align best practices to meet customer quality needs
  • Review and recommend approval for process deviations, quality assurance holds, RMAs, material dispositions, and rework
  • Define and implement corrective actions for non-conforming materials or products
  • Investigate non-conformances and deviations reported by production and end users
  • Establish and build relationships with vendors and customers
  • Participate in cross functional teams to ensure continuous on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity, and quality, while reducing costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Required Experience/Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Quality, Engineering, or Manufacturing
  • Experience in print reading and part measurement
  • Basic level problem solving skills (data analysis, investigation, validation)
  • Experience in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple cross-functional groups

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical school or college credits, advanced certifications, degree
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing and/or process experience with assembly processes
  • Proficient in understanding and reading engineering prints
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Continuous Improvement methodology training/experience
